Abstract
HIV / AIDS disease in Papua increasingly concerned because the number of patients from year to year continues to increase. Papuan cultural and understanding conditions about HIV / AIDS also support the risk of HIV / AIDS in Papua. Free sex behavior is one way of transmission of the HIV virus. The objective of the study was to investigate the relationship between HIV and AIDS in adolescents in secondary schools in Yapen regency of Serui Papua. This study uses observational analytic using cross sectional study. Sampling is done by probality sampling technique with propotional random sampling approach with total sample of 300 respondents. Data collection using the questionnaire sheet as a measuring tool. The data obtained then use SPSS (package statistics for social sciences) version 24 by using statistical test Chi square with value α = 0.05. And the results read on pearson Chi-Square for knowledge variables where obtained value ρ = 0.021, it shows the value of ρ <0.05 there is a relationship of knowledge with the behavior of the section. Continuity and dignity correction for attitude variable where obtained value ρ = 0,103, it shows value ρ> 0,05 which has no relation with existing for HIV / AIDS infection in adolescent in high school in Regency Yapen Islands Serui - Papua.
